H is for Healer

Wikipedia states that a healer is someone who purports to aid recovery from ill health. Several characters in my upcoming ‘Chronicles of Century Isle’ books are considered healers, medicine men/women, warlocks/witches and fairy healers. These characters practice traditional medicine, sometimes referred to as indigenous or folk medicine.

The healers in ‘Chronicles of Century Isle’ use knowledge that has been passed down to them. Some are born with this knowledge already in their system. Their healing practices consists of using herbs; roots, flowers, leaves, bark, etc… in teas, tinctures, poultices, and other methods.

They incorporate various crystals, gems and stones in their healing practices. Many healers manipulate energies to help with healing and most call upon their faith in a higher power.

  1. I chose my sons name because it meant ‘healer’ LOL was I wanting him to be a doctor? Probably.
He got the last laugh, he heals alright, but it’s not people, it’s all things mechanical. He’s a whiz when it comes to fixing things, or building things. 🙂

  2. I am in awe of healers. My son last April was given 6-8 months and because of non traditional treatments in conjunction with traditional healers he is in remission today.
    Congratulations on your upcoming release!

    1. I’m glad to read that traditional healers were able to help your son. Modern medicine has it’s place, but doesn’t know everything. Thanks for stopping by, commenting, and for your encouraging words!

  3. I work with a lot of healers as I sell gemstone jewelry and promote the metaphysical and healing benefits of the gemstones. I usually showcase at Holistic and Metaphysical Fairs and the energy in the room is magnificent when all these healers get together!
Visiting from A-Z. Glad I found your blog.
